GSC Camshaft & Valvetrain Buying Guide | UK

Choose GSC Power-Division camshafts and valvetrain parts by the exact engine and cylinder-head specification, then match the parts to your intended use. GSC Power Shop is operated by RadiumShop UK Ltd and supplies genuine GSC components in the UK, with application support and same-day collection on confirmed in-stock items.

Start with your engine, not just your car model

Before ordering, identify the engine code, cylinder-head version, variable valve timing system and any changes from the original engine. Engine swaps, replacement heads and previous machining can make a registration number alone insufficient. Use the individual GSC part number and its application notes to confirm fitment.

Toyota 2JZ-GTE: confirm VVT-i and build specification

Identify whether your 2JZ-GTE has VVT-i before comparing camshafts. Keep the engine and head specification separate from the vehicle badge, particularly on swapped or rebuilt engines. Do not assume that a camshaft listed for one 2JZ configuration fits another.

Explain your turbo setup, fuel, intended operating range and road or competition use when requesting advice. Compare the manufacturer's notes for each profile rather than choosing by a profile name alone. Check whether the selected cam requires different springs, retainers, buckets or cylinder-head clearance work. The requirements of an extreme competition profile should not be applied to every 2JZ cam.

Browse 2JZ-GTE camshafts, 2JZ-GTE valve spring kits and 2JZ-GTE valves. See the complete 2JZ-GTE range.

Nissan RB26DETT: match the complete valvetrain

For an RB26DETT build, confirm the head, existing camshafts, tappet arrangement and any previous valve or spring changes. Supply the current part numbers where available. A previously modified cylinder head needs its own compatibility checks even when the engine code is known.

Compare cam specifications alongside the matching spring and retainer requirements. Valve size and guide dimensions need to suit the actual head and planned machining; an oversized valve is not simply a replacement for a standard-size valve. Ask your engine builder to confirm the required dimensions before ordering head components.

Nissan VR38DETT: plan around your GT-R build

Identify the VR38DETT engine and head configuration, including any previous upgrades, before selecting components. VR30DDTT and VR38DETT are separate applications; use the exact product listing rather than treating the VR family name as proof of fitment.

For camshaft advice, provide your turbo specification, fuel and intended use, together with the current spring and retainer setup. Confirm the manufacturer's application notes, supporting hardware and tuning requirements with your engine builder. A higher output target alone does not establish which camshaft or spring kit is suitable.

Mitsubishi Evo: choose the correct generation

Separate Evo 1–3/DSM, Evo 4–8, Evo 9 MIVEC and Evo X applications before comparing parts. Evo X uses the 4B11T application; earlier Evo collections cover versions of the 4G63T. The shared Evo name does not make these parts interchangeable.

For a stroker or other modified engine, include displacement and the intended operating range in your enquiry. Check the specific camshaft notes for spring and retainer combinations, clearance requirements and cam gear hardware. These details can differ between profiles, even within the same engine collection.

Shop Evo 1–3/DSM, Evo 4–8, Evo 9 MIVEC or Evo X 4B11T components.

Subaru FA20: distinguish BRZ/GT86 from WRX FA20F

Confirm whether you are buying for the FA20 BRZ/GT86/FR-S application or the turbocharged WRX FA20F application. The manufacturer lists these separately. Check the exact part number's fitment notes even where a component is offered for more than one application.

Keep FA20, FA20F and later FA24 applications distinct. For a rebuilt head, provide the valve dimensions, guide specification and any existing spring or retainer part numbers. Check the selected kit's requirements rather than assuming a shared engine-family label guarantees a match.

Browse FA20 BRZ/GT86 components, including spring kits, valves and guides. For a WRX, use the separate WRX FA20F range.

What should I send for a compatibility check?

  • Engine code, model year and cylinder-head version.
  • Variable valve timing system and any engine or head swap.
  • Existing and proposed part numbers, including cams, springs and retainers.
  • Displacement, turbo setup, fuel, intended operating range and use.
  • Relevant measurements and machining details supplied by your engine builder.

Our team can help identify the relevant products and manufacturer information. Your engine builder should confirm the final assembly measurements, clearances and installation requirements.
